A lead alloy spindle whorl of medieval date. The object is circular in plan and bi-conical with a central circular perforation. The perforation has an internal diameter of 9mm. Each face is decorated six raised pellets. The object has a mid-brown patina and is worn.

Similar examples of spindle whorls have reportedly been found in contexts dated from the Roman through to the Post-Medieval period although the majority are typically dated broadly to the medieval period c.1100-1500.
