Copper alloy mount probably dating from the medieval period 1000 to 1500AD. The mount is in the form of a broken plate with an attachment hole in one corner and decorated with a circular swirling pattern. The mount could well be earlier than the period assigned but no clear parallels have been ascertained for this object. The length is 27mm, the width is 21mm and the weight 3.00g.
