A medieval silver penny of Richard II dating to AD 1377-1399. The coin is worn and damaged along the edge and also has small marks stabbed into the area around the breast. Obverse depicts a crowned bust facing. Reverse depicts a long cross with three pellets in each quarter and a quatrefoil in the centre. Initial mark cross pattee. Mint of York. North 1329 or 1330 (North, JJ, 1991, English Hammered Coinage Volume 2, Spink & Son, London p 62 nos 1329 or 1330).
