A cast copper alloy purse bar of medieval to post-medieval date, (c.AD 1450-1650).
The object consists of a central sub-rectangular block with a vertical circular perforation. From the sides of the block oval sectioned arms extend. One arm is incomplete while the other terminates with a rounded knop. The arms are decorated with oval collars which thicken towards the central block.
A second bar runs through the perforation in the centre of the block terminating at one end with a spherical knop while at the other end are the remains of an incomplete attachment loop. The loop from the hanging frame is incomplete due to ancient breaks. The object has a dark brownish green patina.
