Unique ID: WILT-258853

Object type certainty: Certain

Lead alloy ingot - other associated finds of a late medieval/ post medieval date - otherwise date unsure.
It is roughly circular and peaks in the middle of one side where it is 63mm thick. At the edges it is c.15-30mm thick. The ingot is flat on the reverse side but broken towards the edges giving it a 'dished' appearance.
It measures 234x194mm.
There is mud and iron corrosion adhering to the outside surface but where the ingot has recently started flaking at the edges, it is very obviously lead.
Weighs 8.5kg (to nearest 0.5kg).

Notes:

An ingot, identified by the V&A as tin, was found nearby several years ago
