Lead bag seal. A pair of cast discs clamped together to form a thicker disc with a pair of holes on opposed edges to function as a drawstring bag closure. One side bears a central motif resembling a compass rose with an archer crown above it; this incorporates a legend in two orders, in part reading: ?GOOD? SEEDS / [---] / [---] ?FREE?, with an illegible label set centrally and below, within the circumferential legend: REGISTERED TRADE MARK. The other side bears a three-line central legend: SUTTON / & / SONS and a circumferential legend: [--]BY APPOINTMENT / [EN]GLAND.
