A Medieval copper alloy strap slide, probably dating to c. AD 1250-1400. The slide comrises of a single trapezoidal loop, with the widest arm of the frame being at the top, 15.6mm wide and tapering towards the bottom arm, 12.7mm wide. This upper arm has a squat triangular cross-section, 2.1mm thick, and is 7.6mm wide in profile. All the other arms have flat cross sections, 1.4mm thick, with the lower arm 4.6mm wide in profile. The sides of the frame are wedge shaped when viewed in profile, tapering from the top to the bottom. The lower arm of the frame has a centrally positioned drilled circular perforation, the rivet now missing.

From top to bottom the frame is 15.1mm long and it weighs 2.91g.

Very similar objects excavated in London can be seen illustrated by Egan & Pritchard (1991: 232, esp. no. 1249), these examples dating to between c. AD 1270-1400 by association with ceramics.
