Copper alloy vessel fragment. Cast separately made foot from a small item of tableware, made in the form of a leonine paw with four claws. A drilled hole of diameter 2.7mm is set centrally on a U shaped tab to attach this to the bowl of the vessel. The lion was a popular symbol of British imperial power through the 19th century. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1800-1900.
