An incomplete cast copper-alloy fragment originating from a a flanged axehead of the later Early Bronze Age, c. 2000-1700 BC. The fragment consists the very butt end of the object, broken at one end in an oblique truncation. The butt itself is flat-topped, thickening towards the break with only the ephemeral beginnings of the shoulder flanges in evidence. Preserved in fair condition with an even green patina, it survives to a maximum length of 25.66mm, a maximum width of 38.37mm, and c. 7.97mm thick at its midpoint. It weighs 39.23g.
Complete axes of probable similar original form have been recorded on the PAS database as NMGW-C21D78, LVPL-9E5945 and DOR-28154A.
