Medieval sheet copper alloy harness mount dating to the period c. AD 1100 - 1200. A rectangular plate with a rivet hole at each corner, one of which retains a domed-headed rivet. Projecting from the bottom edge is a bifurcated tab folded to accomodate a missing spindle.
Similar examples are illustrated in Ashley, S, 2002, p. 6.
