Medieval copper alloy single loop buckle dating to the period c. AD 1250 -1400. An oval frame with narrowed and offset strap bar. The ornate outside edge has two lobed knops flanking a sheet metal roller engraved with a series of parallel horizontal lines. The strap bar and the edge of the frame exhibit traces of iron corrosion product.
A similar example is discussed in Egan & Pritchard, 2002, p. 76 - 77, no. 317.
