Roman copper alloy trumpet brooch fragment, 16mm in length, 13mm wide and 6mm thick with a weight of 2.75grams. The object consists of an oval head plate with a rectangular projection, decorated with three ridges, that houses the intact suspension loop. The headplate tapers into a sub-circular cross sectioned bow which is largely missing. The reverse of the headplate houses a rectangular recess for the spring, now missing and is flanked by two semi-circular lugs.
