Lead probable offcut. A rectangular strip of cast lead sheet of thickness 1.8mm, neatly and tightly rolled into a solid cylinder with three folds to accomplish this. Patinated. The tidy form of the object might suggest interpretation as a curse tablet were it accompanied by Roman material, but in this case it is not. This may alternatively be scrap gathered by a tidy plumber or lead-worker, whose operations may be evidenced elsewhere among similar finds submitted with this one. Suggested date: Unknown, 43-1800.
