A partially worn Medieval silver penny of Edward I (r. 1272-1307). Minted at London, between 1282-1289. Class 4c, North 1025
Obverse: Crowned bust facing with a bifoliate crown, spear ornaments with small nick between the left ornament and side fleur and wedged drapery. Bust is heavily worn. Legend: 'EDWA R' ANGL' DNS hYB'. The S is eggwasted.. Reverse: Long cross dividing legend with three pellets in each quadrant. Leg.: 'CIVI/TAS/LON/DON'.
Measurements: 20mm in diameter, 0.78mm thick and 1.43g in weight.
