A fragment of a copper-alloy vessel of medieval to post-medieval date, c.AD 1100 - 1850. The fragment is one foot and part of the leg of a probable cooking vessel. The leg is sub-D-shape in section and expands outward to the wider foot. The base of the foot is flat which would have aided in the stability of the overall vessel and the upper edge of the leg terminates in a worn break. Two parallel raised spines are present flanking the centre of the leg.
The metal has a mid-green patina and is worn. The fragment is 39.2mm long, 35.9mm wide, 33.8mm thick and weighs 150g.
While it is not possible to allocate this fragment to a specific type it is likely to be from a large cooking vessel and dates from c. AD 1100 to c. AD 1850 when the use of cast iron cooking vessels predominates.
