A fragment of a Roman samian ware ceramic vessel, datign to the period c.AD 43 to 260. The fragment is broadly trapezoidal in plan, with a slightly curved profile and is from the body of a vessel. The fabric is orange in colour, and has occaisonal small white inclusions. It is coated in a red slip. Decoration is stamped and comprises a leaf with a rounded double border. Other indiscernable decoration is present above this.
The sherd measures 40.11mm in length, 32.08mm in width, 7.36mm in thickness and weighs 11.48g.
