A Mesolithic flint adze head, dating to the period c.8000-4500BC. The object is sub- triangular in plan, tapering from the cutting edge to the butt. The cutting edge appears tohave been formed by the removal of a single tranchet flake. The adze has a slightly curved profile, with one side being shorter than the other, giving the butt a slight hooked shape.
