An incomplete cast copper alloy disc brooch, dating from the Early Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) period. On the reverse of the brooch can be seen the remains of the catch plate and the hinge bracket which would have held the pin which is now missing. On the upper face on outer section there is a indeterminate pattern followed by 3 incised circles, followed by a circle of dots.The inner pattern consists of 3 incised circles. Dimensions : Diameter 32.28mm, thickness 1.53mm and weighs 8.9gms The brooch dates from c. AD 410-599.
