Copper alloy harness pendant. Cast circular plate with an off-centre concavo-convex boss which projects from a radially incised and bordered plate; the decorative scoring is slightly haphazard in its execution. An integrally cast oval suspension loop at right angles to the display plane, with drilled aperture, retains a short [10mm] axis bar with burred ends which hold it within a folded and slotted pendant hanger with a trapezoid terminal with a short tapered bent spike of length 7mm behind it. The fixing point appears intended to pass into or through a strap. The display face retains gilding traces on both the pendant and its hanger. Suggested date: Medieval, 1175-1250.
