A cast copper-alloy Y-shaped spacer for a Medieval composite strap end, dating to the period 1100-1500.
Description: The frame is Y-shaped, with long thin upper arms rectangular in cross-section. At the rectangular meeting point of the arms and the lower section there is a rivet which remains in situ. The bottom section consists of a ribbed projection that narrows along its length. The spacer is Dark green in colour.
Measurements: 27.39mm long, 9.16mm wide, 3.12mm thick and 1.88g in weight.
