Copper alloy button. Concavo-convex discoid uniform button. A probably die stamped front bears the motif of a grenade with flame issuing from its touch hole, signifying in a British context a Fusilier or Grenadier Regiment, or possibly an artillery unit. An unusual form of four-stranded sub-pyramidal loop appears set centrally in the concave back. Suggested date: post-Medieval, 1800-1900.
