An incomplete copper alloy umbonate brooch dating to the Roman period. The brooch is circular in plan and D-shaped in cross section with a convex front (concave to the rear). The outer edges of the plate have broken away and the hinge, pin and catchplate are missing.
The brooch is decorated with two circles of triangular cells which are filled with enamel. The outer circle is filled with blue enamel while the inner circle has blue cells which alternate with red cells. Some of the cells are empty. In the centre of the object is a small circular cell filled with red enamel. The object has a mid-green patina and is in fair condition.
