An incomplete lead or lead alloy probable four part cloth seal of the Post Medieval period, dating from c. AD 1603 - c. AD 1700.

Only one disc remains, the other three and connecting strips are missing presumed lost in antiquity. The remaining 'disc' is broadly tear drop or pear shaped in plan and broadly rectangular in section. The front face depicts The Royal Arms of the House of Stuart (quartered arms of England and France in first and third quarter (clockwise), fourth quarter shows Harp of Ireland, second quarter is missing). The right side of the front face shows evidence of damage in that the outer edge is folded slightly and the second quarter of the arms is missing, presumed lost in antiquity. The reverse has raised outer edges, and has a ovular depression close to the top of the object. The reverse is undecorated.

The object measures 14.0 mm and is 9.8 mm wide. It has a thickness of 1.9 mm and weighs 0.9 g.

The object is a light brown in colour with an even patina. Abrasion caused by movement whilst within the plough soil may have resulted in the loss of some of the original surface detail. Similar objects of this type have been recorded on the database, including BUC-D8272E, SUR-522AA7, NMS-E57344 and SF-A6F227.
