Sandstone roof tile fragment. A small chip from a stone roof tile with a drilled peghole of diameter 11.5mm. Wallace Collyer of the North Lincolnshire Pottery Research Group kindly identified this object. Occasional stone tile fragments appear in the regional archaeological record from the 14th century onwards, though fired clay roof tile dominated in the area. Suggested date: Late Medieval, 1350-1500.
