A Roman base silver radiate of Carausius (AD 286-293) overstruck on a radiate of Salonina (AD 253-268), dating to the period AD 286-293 (Reece period 14). Obverse: IMP CARAVSIVS P (F AVG), radiate and draped(?) bust right, overstruck on a [PVDICI]TIA reverse type of Salonina depicting Pudicitia seated left holding transverse sceptre, raising right hand to veil. Reverse: [...]X-[...], possibly Pax standing left holding branch and cornucopiae, overstruck on a SALONIN[A AVG] obverse type depicting a draped bust right. For the Salonina type, sole reign of Gallienus (AD 260-268), at Rome cf. Cunetio, p. 112, no. 991. This coin is included in Sam Moorhead's corpus for RIC.
