Copper alloy Roman T-Shape enamelled type brooch. At the head of the brooch the wings are tubular and short. There is a small semi-circular projection from the top of the wings in the centre, perhaps purely decorative or the remains of a chain loop. On the reverse the wings are sparated to accommodate the copper alloy hinged pin, the upper portion of which survives attached to the surviving copper alloy axis bar which passes through the wings. Beneath the wings the upper portion of the bow survives. There is a raised central panel, the surviving portion of which is generally rectangular. At the top of the panel there is a recessed triangular recess with an inverted triangular recess beneath it, the lower edge of which is missing where the bow has been broken off. These recesses most likely originally held enamel. Patchy mid-green patina.
