Description: A small silver rose with fragmentary pin on the reverse. Suggested date is post-medieval/Tudor, i.e. 16th century. The rose has five finely moulded petals with a small central moulded nodule. On the reverse is a pin attachment or the remains of a small shank.
There are several silver or silver-gilt Tudor dress hooks in the shape of a rose (or incorporating the Tudor rose) on the database: 2016T491 (NMS-AA0079), 2014T827 (SF-8F3C56) and especially 2014T555 (SWYOR-1FC41E), 2012T791 (WMID-3C16E1) and 2013 T337 (GLO-778714) which are all of equally small size and shape.
