Copper alloy strap end. Cast elongated zoomorphic strap end with a rounded beast head terminal and a pair of attachment holes, now open. The plate bears a pelta shaped cell next to the attachment holes which may have contained a cross in whose upper angles the attachment holes lay, with a bordered panel of interlace ornament which may include the hind leg of a beast. The terminal bears large eyes flanking an ogival snout with small nostrils to either side towards its end. Thomas Class A Type 1. Darkened by treatment with oil by the finder.
