A complete cast, copper alloy bar mount dating to the Medieval period (AD c.1350 - AD c.1450).
Description: The mount belongs to the type of flat bar mounts with terminal lobes and convex central boss. It has a semi-circular cross-section with transverse grooves on the central lobe. It displays two rivet holes, each with a copper alloy rivet. The central boss is decorated with parallel incised lines. A small iron rivet remains as a stub of iron corrosion in one of the rivet holes.
Measurements: 18.65mm long, 10.08mm wide, 3.81mm thick and 1.66g in weight.
