An incomplete and corroded Iron Age to Roman copper-alloy possible Rosette brooch of the sub-keyhole type (AD 20-AD 60): The central portion of the brooch remains, with the upper and lower edges being broken, but not recently. The brooch has a sub-circular body which is decorated with two horizontal, crescentic grooves. Protruding from the upper edge is a narrowed rectangular band which is a L-shaped profile as it protrudes forwards. The lower edge of the body also has a narrowed rectangular band which is straight in profile and the outer face is decorated with triple stranded groove in the centre and a pair of grooves at the side edges. On the reverse this rectangular band is moulded in the manner so it appears to continue to the upper edge of the circular body. In the centre of this band there is the trace of a catchplate.
The brooch measures 34.08mm long, 23.69mm wide and weighs 10.66g.
The brooch has a well-developed light grey-green patina.
