A medieval to post-medieval (1350-1600) copper-alloy double oval buckle frame. It is incomplete in so far as it is missing its pin. Both loops are oval in shape with angled outside edges and the central bar is trapezoidal in cross-section. The underside of the frame is flat. All original patina is missing; the metal is a browny-purple colour with patches of bright, light green corrosion.
The frame measures 22.4mm long, 18.5mm wide and 2.7mm thick, and weighs 2.30g. The internal dimensions of the hoops are c.7.5x19mm.
A similar example is illustrated in Whitehead (1996; no. 294), very broadly dated to 1350-1720.
