A fragment of an Early-Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) small-long brooch (c. 450-c. 550).
This fragment is the head plate and a small portion of bow.
The head is flat and serrated at the top with a horizontal groove below the serrations. A portion of the bow gives the impression that the bow was strongly arched in side profile. The rear face has a pair of parallel pin-lugs which are 'D'-shaped in side view. There is corroded iron between the lugs and an iron axis bar.
This brooch has a dull green patina with traces of a white metal coating.
