Later Early Medieval copper alloy possible gaming piece c.11th century. The item is circulr in plan and the face features raised moulded relief decoration in the form of a bird enclosed within a beaded border. The back is plain and undecorated.
Jane Kershaw has noted that the style of the piece may have some Scandinavian influences, highligthing the "tightly scrolled end...and clustered form" as possible examples of Ringerike style. She also notes that the heavy beaded border is an Anglo-Saxon trait, and suggests that the item could have been locally produced though influenced by contemporary Scandinavian art and styles (Kershaw, pers comm. 2017)
