Copper alloy unidentified object fragment. A cast straight sided beam with vertical sides of equal size and a flat base forming a trough, broken at one end, possibly across the site of a large circular hole, and crushed at the other end where another, smaller, hole may appear. The finder kindly suggests this to be a fragment of a tumbrel; this reporter, however, discerns no evidence for this beyond the hollow form. A grey tint may suggest the presence of tin or lead in the metal mix. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1500-1800.
