An incomplete copper alloy French Jetton of the Late Medieval to Post Medieval period, dating from c. AD 1497 - AD 1521.
Obverse depcits four fleurs de lis in a lozenge within a tressure of four arches, and the reverse depicts a simple cross pattee in the field with flowers in each quarter, struck mainly in Tournai during the reign of Louis XII (1497-1515) but also struck during the reign of Francis I (1515-1547) up to the year 1521 when Tournai was occupied by Charles V. The obverse compares well with Mitchiner 726a.
