A complete Early-Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) silver sceat (c. 710-c. 740) of Wodan Series H, Type 49 (Abramson 2006: 16 and 73; North 1994: 64, ref: 103, plate 1, no. 48). Mint of Hamwic (Southampton).

Obverse: Moustached face centrally with a beaded outline, eight roundels, all within a beaded border.

Reverse: Crested peacock displaying, roundels above and below head, pellet between legs, pellets behind, all within a beaded border.

Diameter: 12.4mm. Weight: 0.94g. DA=12:3.
