Post medieval copper alloy pipe tamper combined with a seal matrix, 44mm long, 20mm wide and 12mm thick with a weight of 7.78 grams. The object is in the form of a signet ring, with flat upper surface housing an oval bezel which forms the matrix . This is missing some of its surface but appears to be decorated with a star motif sitting above initials, of which an S (the second initial) can still be seen.
The circular sectioned shaft , c.30mmm long, is attached opposite the bezel and is moulded with three increasingly large rounded projections, terminating in the flat circular tamper plate.
