An incomplete cast copper alloy mount or hooked strap fitting of Post-Medieval date (AD 1500-1700). The object is broadly rectangular in plan with tapered and flared portion in the middle of its length terminating in a flared rectangular collar at both ends. There are also a series of cast floral decorations along the length. The face of the object is heavily abraded and appears to represent a stylised leaf and are formed from curvilinear cast grooves. There are two circular sectioned, tapering lugs protruding from both ends of the object, one of which terminates in an old and abraded break. The reverse of the fitting is flat and undecorated. The front of the object and small portions of the back of the object retains gilding. The remaining portions are light green in colour with a corroded and pitted patina.
