An incomplete copper alloy scabbard chape of post-medieval date. The chape is sub-shield shaped with a swollen lower half and an inwardly curved top edge. The upper surface of the chape is decorated with a foliate, design with a twisted rope border to the top edge. The reverse is undecorated and has a lip around the edges. The back plate is missing however this is common as the back plate was made of a thinner sheet of alloy and they rarely survive intact. The length is 41mm, the width is 20mm and the weight 6.44g.
