A very worn but complete copper-alloy Post-Medieval farthing trade token struck for Nicholas Shepherd, draper of Saxmundham. As Williamson no. 288/289.

Farthing trade tokens were first issued in 1648 as a response to the shortage of small change, with halfpenny tokens being issued later. They were finally suppressed by Royal Authority in 1674.
