An incomplete copper alloy Toy firearm of Post-Medieval date (AD 1600 - 1700). The firearm is likely a musket or similar type of gun. The barrel is oval in shape and hollow and has a cast outer ridge running around two sides. At the junction between the barrel and the stock is a small priming hole to fire the musket with a cast hammer on the left hand edge. The stock is a flared triangular form. On the underside of the stock is a rectangular trigger loop. The stock is decorated on both faces with four evenly spaced ring ad dot motifs.
The metal is a dark green in colour with a predominantly smooth patina.
Forsyth and Egan 2005, section 1 Pgs 88-104. This example is most similar to Type 5.
