A complete glass bead of Modern date (AD 1850-1900). The object is a sub-spherical bead of opaque light blue glass with a central, circular, stringing hole. The outer surface bears fine turning lines, indicating the object has been finished on a lathe, and the inside surface of the hole also appears spirally lined by drilling, both features tending to suggest a recent date.
Sky blue beads enjoyed a particular popular during the Victorian period.
