Cast copper alloy harness pendant dating from the medieval period, probably the early 13th century, that is 1200-1230. The harness pendant is made from openwork copper alloy. It is nearly complete with the hanger lug, small axis bar and the pendant mostly intact. However, all surfaces are extremely worn. The pendant depicts a king, royal or knight on horseback, riding right. He appears to wear a crown on his head and possibly a mail shirt. He holds a sword upright in his right hand and the horse's reins with the left.
Webley suggests as a parallel a double-plate pendant from London published by Clark (2004, 64; fig. 47, no. 54). He argues that the form of the pendant is different, but the knights themselves look rather similar. They describe their knight as stylistically C13th, and it was dated by the pottery to c. 1200-1230.
