2 pieces of flint waste flakes (debitage) from flint tool production, likely dating from the early Mesolithic through to the bronze age c. 9000 - 1000BC.
Description: 2 flakes, the smaller of which is a tertiary flake, irregular with a clear bulb of percussion and conchoidal rippling indicative of hard hammer technology. The 2nd is a secondary flake with some patination remaining, roughly rectangular, with subtle bulb of percussion and conchoidal rippling. Both flints are mottled light grey-brown.
Measurements:
Flint 1: 23.42mm long, 17.52mm wide, 2.27mm thick and 0.62g in weight.
Flint 2: 31.62mm long, 21.86mm wide, 5.49mm thick and 3.06g in weight.
