Incomplete medieval copper alloy spur buckle: oval frame with rounded outside edge, strip pin in a paler surfaced alloy set in a hole within the integral plate. The sides of the plano-convex sectioned plate converge around the pin hole and an adjacent rivet hole before tapering gently to a roundel beyond which further tapering leads to the very recent break. There would have been a second rivet near or at the missing inside edge. Extant length 36.5mm. Width of frame 14.4mm. Width of plate 10.2 - 3.2mm. 13th - 14th century.
