Description: A complete gold posy finger ring of post-medieval date (17th - 18th century). The band is D-shaped in cross-section and the inside is inscribed in plain English. The inscription reads: True loves delight doth us unite, followed by a five pointed star. There is no makers mark.

Discussion: Similar items have been recorded on the database and have been declared Treasure. The inscription style in plain English is typical of post-17th century posy rings - cf. BM 1961,1202.123 for similar item.
Conclusion: Consequently, in terms of age and as the object contains a minimum of 10% precious metal, it qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996.
