The frame of the buckle is lipped, and has narrowed off set strap bars. The front edges of the buckle expand which is typical for this shaped buckle for this century. It has two lobed knops, and a set of 6 transverse grooves. This are paired off and run parallel to each other. All of the frame has survived, but the pin is missing.

Overall, the buckle is 27.18mm in length, 18.30mm in width and weighs 4.46g.

A parallel to this buckle can be found in Whitehead (2003) "Buckles" page 22, No. 86. According to Whitehead (2003), this, and other buckles manufactured in this period were fitted with a sheet metal buckle plates, which tended to be ornamented with incised linear patterns, and ranged from small to medium in size.
