An incomplete and corroded Medieval copper-alloy single-loop buckle frame (c. 1250-c. 1350).
The pin is missing.
The plain frame is 'D'-shaped in plan and convex at the front and rear with a thick outside edge and a narrowed bar. The bar is very thin, probably due to wear.
The frame is drab green with flecks of a brown patina.
Length: 11.0mm; width: 15.4mm; thickness: 2.0mm. Weight: 0.83g.
A similar buckle is illustrated in Griffiths et al (2007: 85, pl. 13, ref: 442) where it is categorised as a Meols type 1.
