Rim sherd from a medieval to post-medieval copper alloy cooking vessel such as a cauldron or skillet. The original diameter is not possible to determine. The inner and outer surface both exhibit traces of sooting.
Cooking vessels of this type were in use from as early as AD 1100 and slowly go out of use by 1850, after being superseded by cast iron pots and saucepans (Butler, Green and Payne, 2009, 1).
