Medieval copper alloy strap fitting, a belt mount in the form of a very stylised animal head and decorated with transverse and oblique engraved grooves. There is a separate rivet, and a round concavity on the reverse. Very similar to two examples from Buckinghamshire (Ivens et al. 1995, 336, fig. 153, nos.63-4). Height and width 12.2 and 9.6mm. Thickness 3mm. Rivet length 4mm. 14th century.
